The college of nursing at Tata Memorial Hospital runs courses in Post Basic Diploma Oncology Nursing and M.Sc Medical Surgical – Oncology Nursing.

Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing

The Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing is an 11-month course, exalting knowledge and skill towards oncology specialization for nurses. Updated knowledge and skill in oncology nursing at Tata Memorial Hospital is offered in the programme.

It also opens windows to clinical teaching and research. This course is ongoing at Tata Hospital for 30 years now and over 514 students have benefitted from it. The students are enriched with experience in preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative programs under a single umbrella.

M.Sc. Medical Surgical – Oncology Nursing

The M.Sc. (Nursing) Medical Surgical – Oncology Nursing is a 2 years course that produces refined oncology nurses to be placed at middle and top managerial levels. The students gain updated knowledge of oncology integrated with management. They also acquire hands-on skills to function as successful oncology nurse managers. 

The students present a dissertation as part of the fulfilling requirements of the course. The course provides a platform for students to interact with experts from other associated fields like Stem cell transplant unit, enterostomal therapy etc. They also are trained in various nurse-led clinics like the CVAD and Stoma clinic.
